HomeMy WebLinkAboutBuisness Nisk'a Permit Info Sheet Tsuut’ina Legislative Procedures – Business Nisk’a Use Permint Policies and Procedures is to regulate Tsuut’ina Nation Nisk’a business activity and provide protection and sustainability of the Tsuut’ina Nation Nisk’a and environment. -Tsuut’ina Nation Nisk’a are held in the collective interest of the Tsuut’ina Nation for the right, use and benefit of the Tsuut'ina Nation Citizens under the authority of the Tsuut’ina Head Chief and Minor Chiefs. Through this Policy, Common Lands can be permitted for a particular use by a Tsuut’ina Nation Citizen or a Tsuut'ina Nation Department. -The 11 Land & Environment Principles must be adhered to for the protection of the Nisk’a, environment, cultural and historical sites for each business Nisk’a use activity or development. -This Policy is applicable to all Common Lands and any of the following exclusive and non- exclusive business Nisk’a use activities and development: - Agricultural, cultivating, and pasturing - Tsuut’ina Nation business -Tsuut'ina Nation Nisk’a Assignments - Tsuut'ina Nation special events -Tsuut'ina Nation buildings What does a Business Nisk’a Permit Grant? Permission for access, identifies location, sets conditions an fee’s for activity or development. This will also help to manage and minimize the impact on the environment, cultural and historical sites. What is the application process? Applicant must fill out forms to detail information about the business. An environmental (Nisk’a inspection) by LERD, and an eviromental review and a project description. Lands will provide all required forms and will assist applicants through the procedures. Who approves the Business Nisk’a Use Plan? Tsuut’ina Nation Head Chief and Minor Cheifs will have the final say on all completed applications, with the recommendations of the Lands Advisory Committee. Compliance, monitoring and fees; Annual on-site mmonitoring will be conducted, Non compliance will result in a penalty or fine, (yet to be determined).
