Tsuut’ina Nation's Aquatic Habitat Restoration
Fund (AHRF) program has been actively
engaged in various initiatives to promote
awareness surrounding the community's
watersheds, watercourses, riparian areas, and
fish species.
On April 13th, 2023, the AHRF presented to the Manyhorses High
School in collaboration with LERD to educate students on our
waterways, riparian areas, and fish species. The AHRF, in partnership
with the Land’s Portfolio, Laserfiche, and S&B Apps, created an App
with the intent to facilitate community engagement and support the
AHRF’s awareness efforts. The AHRF also funded a field trip for Chief
Big Belly Middle School to visit Fish Creek in hopes of spreading
awareness for waterways and fish species. Generous volunteers from
the Friends of Fish Creek provided information and tours for students.
An open house was held on March 20th,2023 for Elders to learn more about the
AHRF's work along with key updates from other Tsuut’ina Nation departments. The
AHRF also provides updates on its activities to the Lands Department's quarterly
newsletters.
